ABOUT US

We started out homesteading on a tiny piece of property in the city of Wilson. We raised chickens and rabbits, planted a garden, and started making goat milk soap, all while Grant was still in the military and I was in college studying to be a veterinarian. Once we added pigs, we knew we needed to find someplace bigger that allowed us to do more on our homestead. Luckily, we were blessed to find our 5 acre property where we live now, and our expansion started from there!

We dived right into everything. Built breeding coops for chickens to separate them by breed and sell pure-bred hatching eggs and chicks, acquired our first goats, fenced off a garden area and separate pig pasture, and got a new stable barn built. We definitely had our ups and downs that year after moving to our new place, but we have since learned from those experiences and gained a lot of knowledge from them!

Grant was medically retired from the Air Force that very next year, and I made the hard decision to drop out of college to pursue our dreams of turning our homestead into an actual working farm. We have since expanded in more ways than one! Our goat herd has nearly quadrupled, we added several more dairy goats to be able to offer fresh raw milk, we began setting up at farmers markets with our pasture-raised meat and other farm products, several fruit trees and bushes have been planted, our garden space has doubled so we can have extra produce to offer, and SO MUCH MORE!!

We welcomed our first son into the world summer of 2022, and we are beyond excited to raise him on the farm with us and teach him all the things that we are passionate about.

This year our we are opening up our farm to the public! We are building a farm store, offering farm tours, and also doing U-pick flowers!  We look forward in meeting new faces here on the farm this summer 2023! Stay tuned for more details being relased soon.

Sincerely,

Grant, Rebekah, and baby Roane
